Are the free practice questions real NCLEX questions?

No. NCSBN does not release live exam questions. The Focused Nursing Prep Classes quiz uses practice questions written in the NCLEX style, with the clinical reasoning explained for every answer.

How many questions are in the free NCLEX practice quiz?

The quiz has 30 questions, in three sets of 10, and most nurses finish in about 30 minutes. Set 3 opens with a six-question case study about one client, with one question for each clinical judgement step, the way NCSBN builds the case studies on the NCLEX-RN.

How is my practice quiz score broken down?

Each question in the practice quiz is tagged with one of the eight client-needs areas in the 2026 NCLEX-RN test plan, and each area's share of the 30 questions falls inside the range the test plan sets for the real exam. When you finish, you see your score in every area, so you know where to start studying.

How many questions are on the NCLEX-RN?

The NCLEX-RN has between 85 and 150 questions, in up to five hours. It is a computerized adaptive test, so it stops once it can decide whether you are above or below the passing standard.

Where can I practise more questions?

Students in the 12-Week Comprehensive Review Program at Focused Nursing Prep Classes practise NCLEX-style questions in every class and take a weekly test to track their progress.
