Common questions
Can I study for the NCLEX while working full-time?
Yes. The 12-Week Comprehensive Review Program at Focused Nursing Prep Classes has 2-hour live classes, Monday to Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. Eastern Time (4:30 to 6:30 a.m. IST, Tuesday to Saturday), and every class is recorded, so a late shift does not mean a missed class.
How much are the classes?
At Focused Nursing Prep Classes, the 12-Week Comprehensive Review Program is $1,200 CAD in tuition, reduced from $1,500 with a 20% discount. The 4-Week Retaker Program is $449 CAD. Exam and regulator fees are separate and paid to them directly.
Can you help me get licensed in the USA or Australia?
Yes. RNs write the NCLEX-RN in all three countries (in Canada, everywhere except Quebec), and Australia adds an OSCE after it. For RPN/LPNs, Focused Nursing Prep Classes covers the NCLEX-PN for the USA and the REx-PN or CPNRE for Canada. Book a call and Mandeep Dhaliwal, RN, will map your route.
Do I need NNAS before writing the NCLEX-RN in Ontario?
No. Since 1 April 2025 the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) accepts a credential assessment from WES, ICAS or ICES, and still accepts NNAS Expedited reports prepared by TruMerit. Once CNO finds your education substantially equivalent, it tells you that you can book the exam.
I failed the NCLEX once. Can I still pass?
Yes. Your NCLEX result report shows which areas need work, so preparation starts there. The 4-Week Retaker Program at Focused Nursing Prep Classes is built for this: 4 weeks of live online classes around your gaps.
How much does the NCLEX cost in Canada?
The NCLEX costs $360 CAD plus tax for Canadian licensure until NCSBN raises it to $570 for anyone who registers with Pearson on or after 1 February 2027, whatever the exam date, so registering earlier keeps the lower fee.
